Activision’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, the newest installment, has witnessed an interesting phase, to say the least. Yes, it’s been the best-selling game of 2022, but there have been many issues as well attached to it. Not to mention that players have been very vocal about the problems they have come across in the last few months. However, after the debut of Season 2, things have improved slightly if not completely.
While the players are enjoying the Multiplayer experience, some of them are still not fully content with the options in Modern Warfare II. Especially when it comes to the weapons in the game. But now, they might receive some brand new additions to the ongoing installment as well as its extension in Warzone 2. Going by a fresh leak, it seems like an old, yet popular, sniper rifle is making its grand return!

In case anyone is not aware about this beast, Intervention has been featured heavily in the previous entries. The bolt-action sniper rifle was originally revealed in 2009’s original Modern Warfare 2. Apart from that, players got to use it in COD: Online, Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare Remastered, and MW2 Campaign Remastered as well.
Well now this fan-favorite weapon is coming back, according to a major leak coming from a datamine. Media outlet CharlieIntel recently shared a tweet that featured an image of Intervention sniper rifle. Along with that, the outlet wrote that it’s likely coming to Call of Duty Modern Warfare II as well as Warzone 2.

If true, this leak will end up frustrating the devs a lot. That’s because they might have been planning to reveal this weapon as a surprise for the next season in April. But due to the datamining, their efforts may go in vain.
All things considered, however, Intervention’s addition to the Multiplayer as well as the battle royale experience will be crucial. After all, it’s one of the most epic weapons in the franchise. Bringing it back will possibly attract more players to spend time in the ongoing games. Once again, the current leak is not yet confirmed so one should take it with a grain of salt.
