Ever since its reveal last year, Minecraft Legends had been on the priority list of fans all over the world. Promised to add the JRPG style real-time strategy elements to the blocky, pixelated, creative survival game had won the interest of many fans and admirers of the genre. But unfortunately, the results weren’t what they had expected.
Minecraft Legends was released for multiple platforms on April 18, 2023. Set in an alternate universe, the premise followed a very generic fantasy plot where the world was peaceful until an evil force decided to invade and ruin the balance, and spread chaos.

In the game, the evil antagonist force is represented by piglins. These piglike bipedal animals may be a familiar sight for Minecraft veterans. “Discover the mysteries of Minecraft Legends, a new action strategy game. Explore a gentle land of rich resources and lush biomes on the brink of destruction. The ravaging piglins have arrived, and it’s up to you to inspire your allies and lead them in strategic battles to save the Overworld!” reads the official Steam description of the game.
Fans share their disappointment after playing Minecraft Legends
While the hype was insanely high for the game, the initial reactions didn’t seem to be very positive. Most critics and users alike are saying that although Mojang has been advertising it as a strategy game, there’s barely any strategy involved in the gameplay. According to the fans, the title severely failed to even capture the signature charm of the original game.
Does anybody know how to uninstall Minecraft Legends again? I cannot for the life of me find where to do that?

“I’m sad, but not at all surprised, that it sounds like the game turned out to be a shallow representation of the genre. Sounds like it’s decent for the kiddos getting into the genre for the first time, but not for a former Starcraft 2 player like me,” said a user named @Legomann97 on Twitter.
In it's defense, it is not ment to be "hardcore rts", more like entry level rts with lots of action. I always prefered more slow paced, potentially even turn based rts games.
The PvP is a fun mode to casually play with friends.
Campaign so far a nice journey in MC lore. https://t.co/7zt471HyfV— Docm77 (@docm77) April 15, 2023
After getting a chance to learn more about Minecraft Legends, I will have to adjust my rating.
It is a 4/10.
Unfortunately.
Campaign is extremly repetitive, controls are iffy at best, multiplayer is chaotic and no way to cue with friends.
I hope some patches come fast. https://t.co/j7D2e94vdm

The lack of chat in PvP was a clear misstep. It's hard enough to PUG RTS/MOBA/etc, but having ZERO in game communication is just not a fun time. I saw many other issues in the initial previews 2 weeks ago, but that one really stood out as a gamer since Apple ][ days.

The main victim behind the negative reception of Minecraft Legends seems to be the uninspired implication of Real Time Strategy elements in the game and the lack of proper direction. So far, the game is sitting with a score of 69% on Metacritic, only based on critics’ reviews. It is the lowest-scoring Minecraft game so far on the rating platform.
