This was proven true when an 11-year-old video of the Spanish Tennis star was unearthed recently on YouTube. The video featured him, and other Spanish players playing a soccer video game, on a PlayStation console.

11-year-old video shows Rafael Nadal playing PES 2011 on PlayStation 2

On April 2011, the video titled, “Nadal Playing PlayStation Game – By My camera” was uploaded by WivoRN Productions. It showed Rafael Nadal, Juan Monaco, and David Ferrer playing the popular soccer video game PES 2011, on PlayStation 2.

This video is especially surprising as there are not many instances captured on camera of the Spanish Tennis superstar playing any video game whatsoever. Further giving this video a legendary status. In the video, Rafael Nadal can be seen scoring a goal against Juan Monaco and jumping in happiness, then hugging David Ferrer, as they were both on the same team.

One thing more to notice here is the fact that the players are actually sitting in a hotel-like room, which means that they were really good friends even back then. Hence were only competing against each other for the sake of sports and nothing more.

Nadal’s upcoming matches

This year Rafa’s close friend and legendary player Roger Federer took retirement from the game after playing for over 24 years. However, Rafael Nadal is not giving any hints at the same as of now. The 36-year-old Spanish star has some interesting matches up ahead. He also has a number of exhibition matches against 23-year-old Norwegian professional player Casper Ruud.
