However, the fans of the Plague Requiem were startled to see the iconic Asobo Studio game not winning any category at the event.
Fans express their ‘disappointed’ as A Plague Tale: Requiem fails to win at the Game Awards
Focus Entertainment’s successful project, Plague Tale: Requiem was selected for numerous categories at the 2022 Game Awards. The survivor game was nominated for the prestigious Game of the Year award, Best Narrative, Best Music, Best Performance, and Best Action Adventure Game.
The declaration of each of these categories, however, shocked and disappointed many fans as the game failed to win even a single one of these categories. The fans were left baffled as they expressed their thoughts on Twitter.
It was a steal, maybe it wasn't up to the task of a GOTY but A Plague Tale: Requiem deserved to win at least in soundtrack and performance, it was simply the best but the favorite and the popular always win, a real shame💔

Some fans accepted the bitter blow the game received at the Game Awards, as there were many big names under the Game of the Year category.
But, many fans from the community really thought that at least Charlotte McBurney would receive the ‘Best Performance’ award for her extraordinary performance as Amicia. Unfortunately, she also did not receive the award.

“Easily the top 3 best games of the year, McBurney’s performance is top tier in video games in recent times, what to say about the story and the soundtrack, powerful and extremely emotional,” stated Antonio, a Fan of A Plaque Tale: Requiem.
Very disappointed it did not win anything the narrative & score we're amazing & Charlotte McBurney did an incredible job as Amicia thought Hugo & Sophia VA's we're great as well

The Asobo Studio game was not the only one affected
Along with A Plaque Tale: Requiem, many fans were upset with ‘Sifu’ not winning the ‘Best Indie Game’ award. Many from the gaming community have also expressed their grief about Horizon: Forbidden West, and how it did not get its deserved recognition.
