Nintendo is one of the biggest game developers and console creators in the world. The Japanese gaming giant has acquired a massive market the world over and is hoping to take things to a new level with Nintendo’s Switch device. The handheld device has proved to be a massive success selling over 103 million devices the world over.
However, this wasn’t the only venture of the studio & Hiroshi Yamauchi took up in his early years of the 1960s. The Legendary game developer once tried to dip his hands in the taxi business with hopes of expanding the company. It was one of the many firms that Hiroshi took up in the 60’s era, and a rare throwback picture sheds light on that era. Twitter user, Beforemario, shared an iconic image from the 1970s a few years prior to Hiroshi’s dive into gaming.

In a follow-up, tweet, he also shed light on one of the first gaming devices ever created by the company, which only featured nominal keys. The early pieces of the gaming giant involved a game about a ball and light switches, and it also served as a portable watch.

Nintendo went on to become an important part of gaming history
This experiment in the market of gaming laid the foundation for what was supposed to come next. The iconic studio gave birth to many legendary devices like N64, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Super Nintendo, GameCube and so and so forth.

In addition to that, it also gave birth to many unforgettable titles, which fans simply can’t get enough of from Mario, Legend of Zelda, Adventure Island, Animal Crossing, Monster Hunter, Contra. Castlevania, and more.
Even today, numerous titles from the long-forgotten eras continue to entertain the audience. The studio has found a rather unique way to keep them alive and well by coming up with a live subscription service, Nintendo Switch Online. Owners of the Switch device can purchase a membership and use it to play a roster of classic titles including, N64, Sega Genesis, Nintendo Entertainment System, and Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
