One of the most awaited comebacks of 2022 was the return of Overwatch. The sequel, which went live in October 2022, completely replaced the former version of the game. Overwatch 2 brought a new 5v5 FPS style into the game with a lot of quality-of-life adjustments.

Moreover, the players were able to port their OW1 IDs to OW2. These helped the players in maintaining their skins. Now, as the Overwatch League and other events have commenced in the game, players are offered a wide variety of new cosmetics. But, unfortunately, some of them are now being considered as ‘pay to lose.’

Even though skins in Overwatch are not meant to give a competitive edge or disadvantage, this particular skin is getting all the attention for being a disadvantage to the user.

These amazing skins have unique dialogues, sound effects, and aesthetic appeal. The widowmaker’s outfit features are now a curse for the skin line. The sound while walking is so noisy that the other players will be able to clearly hear Widowmaker walking by.

As she is supposed to be a character that dons a sniper and needs to be sneaky, this feature is a huge disadvantage for Widowmaker mains. Moreover, the skin line has a medusa-like hair for the DPS character. This also is not doing any good for the DPS hero. Enemies can hear the hissing of the snakes, and this makes Widowmaker an easy target to hit.

All these completely ruin the DPS character’s ability to be stealthy. So, it is ideal to avoid this skin until Overwatch adjusts the skin line to solve this problem.
