Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out came out in 1987 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It’s an adaptation of the 1984 arcade game Punch-Out!! After its release, it became a huge hit; many even claimed that this boxing sports video game was one of the best video games of all time. It is still one of the fan-favorite NES games.

This 1987 game revolved around a fictional character Little Mac who has to win the “Dream Fight” final against the world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson. Undoubtedly, The Baddest Man on the Planet would be the perfect final boss for a boxing game as the American boxer is one of the best in the sport’s history. However, after the video game lost the license with Tyson, devs swapped Tyson for a fictional character Mr. Dream.

The American boxing legend recently tried Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out on his 56th birthday. It seems he was really enjoying playing the classic NES game. Undoubtedly, it was amazing to see one of the greatest boxers act like a small kid who was all excited to play a video game.

Iron Mike initially had trouble as he had never played the game before. So he took some time to figure out the controls. But once he did, he was all into it. He was so focused on the game that he was even shouting and making funny noises while he was struggling in the game. It was a joyful moment for every Mike Tyson fan.

Let’s hope we get to see more of this kind of content. Maybe Mike Tyson should also try streaming cause it would be fascinating to see the boxing legend get all hyped up while playing a video game. Tyson might get an NES and a copy of Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out to play at home after trying it for the first time. Moreover, it would be an excellent present for him to celebrate turning 56 this year.
