MrBeast voices his thoughts on how his hiring is different from that of Netflix
While appearing on the podcast with Lex Fridman, MrBeast voiced his thoughts on Twitter, YouTube, his future goals, and on many other topics. During the podcast, Fridman appreciated his team and asked Jimmy about how he hires a great team.
To this, MrBeast said, “The big thing is, especially in this content creation, ’cause it’s not like anything that’s done on Netflix or different content mediums. I really need people who are coachable, and really see the value in what I care about because it’s a very specific way of going about things, and it’s a thing you… There’s no one like, plug and play.”
He continues to give an example, “If Netflix wanted to hire someone to do a documentary, there’s probably tens of thousands of people you could hire that have worked on documentaries before. But if you wanna hire someone to make super viral YouTube videos, you know, like we do, there’s just no one you can really pull from.”

MrBeast gave his opinion on how detailed hiring becomes when it comes to YouTube content creation. He also stated hiring hardworking and obsessed people is easy as they do not undervalue or underestimate one’s views, unlike the “traditional people.” “So it’s easier just to train someone than just pull ’em from traditional, ’cause traditional people just… I don’t know, they have all these opinions and things. And they just think our way of going about things is dumb,” MrBeast explained.
