And thus, this COD season was looked upon by fans with a sense of sadness. Scump declared this season would be his last on the pro scene. But before the season could end, Scump suddenly announced his retirement.
“It was very turbulent. Whenever it finally came down to it, and we shot the video in my house, it was eye-opening and surreal,” stated Scump, when Jake Lucky asked about how he felt about the whole situation.

It seems like there have been rounds and rounds of discussion that went on regarding his retirement. Moreover, he was unsure whether the decision to take a step back was the right one or not, and this confusion bothered him a lot.

The retirement announcement brought a wave of emotions for Scump, and we could evidently see that when he gave his retirement speech. We saw the veteran player in tears and choking on words, trying to control his emotions.

Abner stated that he often feels bored, but is relieved. The competitive pressure is not taking a toll on the star anymore, and it seems like that is something he enjoys.
