Counter-Strike 2 is inching closer to its grand release and is expected to come out this summer. CS: GO has been the pioneer of FPS gaming for the past decade, and its mechanisms are admired in the community. Thus, when the second edition or sequel per se is coming out, they are trying to build upon these very mechanisms.
We all saw what the game has to offer through the Beta and now the developers are quite busy advertising the game. For this, what is a better strategy than bringing in the most celebrated players of the game for a show match, which inadvertently turned into a battle of wits?

Counter-Strike 2 Show match goes viral: The s1mple Effect
The FPS community is one of the most competitive ones in eSports history. At the helm of this group stands CS: GO which has helped eSports redefine and reiterate what an FPS can offer. So, when a sequel of this popular game is coming out, what better way to promote it than to call the veterans who graced the CS:GO scene?
Thus, at the recent IEM Rio 2023, a show match was conducted. It was the best of one and featured two prominent sides. As the event this time is conducted in Rio, we got to see an all-star Brazil team. They were competing against ‘The World’ squad, which consists of some of the most prominent eSports figures in Counter-Strike history.
The match was exquisite with many key events, but one that caught the eye of the community was the one that featured CS: GO’s face s1mple. Oleksandr Olehovych Kostyliev, aka s1mple, is considered the best in the business and he was in a neck to neck face off against FalleN, the Brazilian star.

Both were facing each other in one of the most classic ways possible, which is, a 1v1 racing-the-clock moment. s1mple planted the bomb in Dust 2, and FalleN was left with the task of defusing the bomb while the Navi god stood guard. What followed can be considered a monumental moment in Counter-Strike 2 history. s1mple was quick peeking, not allowing FalleN any chance, and when the latter pushed, s1mple took him out with a knife.
Fans went bizarre after seeing this impressive trick pulled by the 25-year-old.
Fans go gaga after witnessing s1mple’s prowess
Soon after the moment, fans were seen commenting about the stylish play that s1mple did. They were talking about how the GOAT of CS: GO is establishing a forte in the sequel as well. This unique show match became quite popular and was even on par with many monumental matches that were played in the scene.
That ending lol

After seeing this, people reminisced about the ‘iconic AWP moment’ of s1mple when he baited his AWP and took out the enemy with just a pistol.
This moment really minds me of the AWP moment when he threw it and pistol the last guy. This is crazy already.
