Elon Musk has made some controversial changes to Twitter after taking over as its CEO. The most discussed and debated among them are the widely desired blue checkmarks. In the last few days, a significant number of users, who were given the blue ticks, no longer seem to have them.

The model for verification is currently subscription-based, called Twitter Blue. Interestingly, the Tesla founder seems to be taking money out of his pocket for quite a few individuals, and the top dog of Youtube, MrBeast, has an interesting take on this.

The microblogging platform is now hot to the touch. Twitter, one of the most popular social media websites, is currently embedding a premium system through which users can buy their blue marks. But, from reports it can be understood that for some people Elon Musk himself is paying for the checkmarks. A page indicated that the $200 billion man may be helping  LeBron James and Stephen King with their checkmarks.

It seems that Musk gave a concession to his favorite NBA star and author on his micro-blogging platform. But what is more interesting is that Musk himself came forward stating that the news had substance. Apart from the two icons, Musk also pays for the blue checkmark of Canadian actor William Shatner.

After Elon Musk revealed this detail, MrBeast had some intriguing stats to share with the world. According to Jimmy Donaldson, Musk pays for 62.5% of his marks. MrBeast was pointing at the latest Super Follow subscription. Interestingly, as soon as Donaldson switched on his Super Follow subscription, Elon Musk was the first of many who subbed in.

The money that he gained from the Super Follow can to some extent pay for Jimmy’s blue checkmark. However, the content creator is evidently joking. According to earlier statements that Donaldson gave, the proceedings from his Twitter subscription are donated to a generous cause.
