Esports teams hiring big-name personalities like famous athletes and singers isn’t something uncommon in the industry. The renowned eSports organization FaZe Clan has already joined with famous American rapper Snoop Dogg and the son of NBA star LeBron James, Bronny James. Now another renowned eSports organization Cloud9 has followed the same steps.

While FaZe Clan settled with Bronny James on board, Cloud9 went for Bronny’s father. However, this recent collaboration took a surprising turn that no one expected. The whole world couldn’t help themselves to laugh at this latest development between the eSports organization and LeBron James.

LeBron James’ collaboration with Cloud9 was short-lived

The Santa Monica-based professional eSports company broke the internet after announcing that they joined hands with LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers star joined the Valorant division of Cloud9. It was interesting to see how James followed in his son’s footsteps.

But just after a day of announcing this big move, Cloud9 once again broke the internet. They revealed that this big collaboration was short-lived and had to part ways with LeBron James. However, Cloud9 wished luck for the NBA star’s future ventures. Neither of the parties revealed the reason for this deal to fail overnight.

If Cloud9 Valorant would have succeeded to have LeBron James on board, then his presence would have attracted a lot of attention and many more deals. Undoubtedly, it could have been one of the most successful deals in Cloud9’s history. But there are also people like MoistCr1TiKaL,  the owner of Moist Esports, who criticize having celebrities on board.

Twitter fans could not hold their reaction to this deal’s failure

People on Twitter were amused to see how this deal fell off in just a day after the announcement. Some even took digs at Cloud9 and how they let go of their best players from the team in the past. Meanwhile, some Twitter users made jokes about LeBron James breaking the deal because of not getting a favorable role in Cloud9’s Valorant squad.
