Nintendo Lovers Snatched Up $25000 TAG Heuer Formula 1 X Mario Kart Watches Within Hours Of Release

Nintendo has done many collaborations in its long history of making video games and other products, but it is very unlikely to see the company making watches for fans. This can get even more interesting by the fact that the company now collaborated its prized possession with a Formula 1-inspired watch from Tag Heuer.

This made even more headlines because of the fact that last year Tag Heuer promised to bring out a watch collaborating with Mario Kart but was not able to make collectors happy with it. But now it seems that they have heard their collectors and have finally brought the watches out.

Mario Kart now goes zooming with Tag Heuer

Recently, a commercial went viral on the internet showcasing the features of the latest Tag Heuer and Mario Kart watch. This was most interesting because of the fact that the Mario Kart watch, which was designed by the Swiss watch-making behemoth, is actually under the Formula 1 racer line.

Notably, last year Tag Heuer hinted at the product being launched soon, but instead gave out skins for the Mario Kart x F1 watches that collectors were not happy with. But since they received that feedback, the watchmakers worked collectively with Nintendo to finally launch this new product in the market.

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 x Mario Kart Limited Edition (Chronograph) has a recommended retail price of $4,300 (USD) and the TAG Heuer Formula 1 x Mario Kart Limited Edition (Chronograph Tourbillon) has a recommended retail price of $25,600 (USD). Notably, the watch has been sold out just after its launch within hours, as the line for collectors was immense. Both Mario and F1 fans couldn’t stop themselves from buying this limited edition watch.

What were some cool features of the watch that collaborated with Formula 1?

Despite being sold as the skin first, collectors were still hopeful for the original watch as it was advertised as a slick-looking accessory and has a really creative outlook. According to the official website of the company, “TAG Heuer teams up with one of the world’s most famous racers. With plenty of Mario Kart details and powered by the Calibre 16 automatic movement, this 44mm chronograph is infused with references to the world-famous racing games series.”

There are two watches made by Tag Heuer for their Formula 1 x Mario Kart line, the first being the Chronograph and the second one being the Tourbillon Chronograph, with both the watches having 44 and 45 mm in diameter, respectively.
