Before the release of Avalanche Software’s magnum opus, Hogwarts Legacy based on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the open-world fantasy RPG genre was unparalleled by none other than one of the greatest RPG games ever made, CD Projekt RED’s Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.

Hogwarts Legacy Easter Egg in Witcher 3
CDPR’s Witcher series is based on the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski. However, the games present a completely new story that chronologically takes place where the book ends. Hogwarts Legacy is also very similar in this aspect, as it also follows the worldwide phenomenal book franchise, Harry Potter, and offers a story that doesn’t appear in the mainline novels.

In the “Hearts of Stone” DLC, there is a certain quest where Geralt has to take part in a medieval Ocean’s Eleven-style heist. He has to steal the deeds of the Borsodi’s Manor to fulfill the wish of the enigmatic, immortal, Olgierd von Everec and complete his side of the bargain with the mysterious lord of the mirrors aka Gaunter O’Dimm.
But to initiate the quest, Geralt has to visit an auction in Bosrsodi’s manor where we can buy a variety of wears, including a pair of glasses that belonged to the “professor” (Witcher 1 reference). In this auction house, Geralt can find other unbuyable artifacts, including a giant silver goblet which the Witcher claims to be the “Goblet of Fire.”

This “Goblet” was a clear reference to the Harry Potter Books. “Goblet of Fire” is the cover name of the fourth book of the Harry Potter series. However, the Witcher 3 Goblet is visually different from the movie presentation. But it is a lot more similar to the book’s description of the mythical goblet.
