The Nintendo Switch does not have a shortage of games. Over the years, titles from various genres have made their way to this console. And they range from fast-paced shooters to deep RPGs to massive open-world titles.
If one has a console with such a massive library, choosing just the right game gets a little tricky. Hence, for all gamers who prefer playing with their families, here’s a list of family-friendly games on the Nintendo Switch!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The latest in the Mario Kart series, this game has the biggest roster of them all. Fans can choose from Metal Mario to Link and even ride his bike in races. Like with every Mario Kart game, there’s a gimmick involved here, and that gimmick is anti-gravity. Player vehicles drive on roofs and walls on many levels.
The best part is that this game allows for a vs match between two to four players.
Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley is one of the best farming games of modern times. And the interesting thing about this game is that it was made by just one man. And this one person is so passionate that he keeps updating this game with new content every few months.
It’s a game worth playing if one wants to just chill, grow vegetables on their farm, and sell the produce without worrying much about the rat race.

This game too allows for co-op play, so more than one person can manage a farm together.
Luigi’s Mansion 3
Mario’s taller brother returns in this new and creepy adventure as he explores a huge haunted mansion in search of his brother. Besides everything else one can say about those games, one thing that is worth mentioning is that they are one of the best-looking games on that system.
This one too has a co-op mode that allows two players to explore this haunted mansion together.
Captain Toad’s Treasure Tracker
This is a very interesting title indeed; it features none other than Mario’s friend Toad (Yes, the one from the movie) as he explores various puzzle filled ruins in search for treasure. Those puzzles range from very easy to somewhat hard, and it could act as a baby’s first puzzle game, all thanks to its charming protagonist.
Players can even play it co-op and solve puzzles that require two players.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Just like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, this game is the ultimate version of every game that has ever been released in this series. Smash Bros. Ultimate features pretty much every character this series has seen so far. Players can duke it out against each other using their favorite characters, knocking them off the stage.
That’s what makes this fighting game family-friendly: a more cartoonish aesthetic that does not take itself too seriously. This game, too, allows for numerous players to fight each other on one screen, making it the ultimate family outing!
Overcooked! All You Can Eat
Ever thought of becoming a chef? Ever imagined what it would feel like to be a chef who is under pressure to serve numerous customers at once? This can cause a lot of chaos in the kitchen, and that’s what this game does too. Players are tasked with controlling a flimsy chef who has to serve a number of customers who keep lining up.
Between managing those customers and getting their orders right, this game allows for the craziest of scenarios. And yet again, players can get a partner to help them through those orders.
Switch Sports
The Wii Blockbuster returns in the form of a Nintendo game, and it is as good as a sports game can be. Keep yourself and your family active by participating in the multitude of sports that are included in this game. Some of them might even help you and your family keep fit!

Many of those games take advantage of the motion abilities of their controllers to play. And many of them also allow for versus play, making these games playable by more than one person at once.
