Epic Games has continued its spending spree by acquiring SuperAwesome, which is an organization that provides tools for developers to create a better and safer digital experience for the younger section of the population.

Epic Games aims to make digital arenas a safe venture for the young blood
SuperAwesome’s services function as a parental consent management program, enabling devs to create content for all ages.
The Epic Games press release following the acquisition said, “The company also runs a tool called AwesomeAds, allowing devs to “offer kid-safe monetization inside their products.”
SuperAwesome’s tools and services are employed by a number of conglomerates around the world, including the likes of Lego, NBC Universal, and Hasbro.
More importantly, SuperAwesome will continue working with its existing customers to honor previous agreements. But it plans on bringing about a massive change in the way the users consume digital content. Partnering with Epic Games, it will focus its attention on making the internet a safer place for kids.

“More kids interact online than ever before and now is the time to double down on their safety,” said Epic Games CEO, Tim Sweeney. This statement probably stems from the fact that Fortnite’s user base consists largely of young gamers.

Fortnite is one of the most popular titles in the world right now. It attracts the younger demographic the most, owing to its goofy visuals, immersive combat and building mechanic.
With this acquisition, Epic Games has added a massive weapon to its arsenal. It has gone on to project the company’s seriousness when it comes to creating a safe environment for its young user base. While we don’t know how this deal will pan out, it will surely make content consumption less distasteful than it is right now.
