Thus now the University of Texas in Austin is providing courses to teach students about Taylor Swift, in a separate class for Humanities. Regarding this, Pokimane’s close friend and creator of Streamer awards QTCinderella made a joke saying she will be teaching the class.

University teaching about Taylor Swift!

A recent news shows the University of Texas, Austin offers a course on world-famous singer Taylor Swift. This news not just brought a lot of hype to fans but also to streamers as well.

As after the news went viral streamer QTCinderella humors the course by saying she is moving to Texas to teach students about Swift. Notably, this was just a joke and was delivered with a perfect sense of humor, since her fans know how much she loves listening to the singer and complimenting her voice and lyrics.

 

The fact that the course will be taught by English Professor Elizabeth Scala to first-year undergraduates in the Liberal Arts Honours Program is also very shocking to fans.

Why is the University providing this course?

There is no definitive answer to why the university chose to teach Taylor Swift’s songwriting style to students, but a Facebook post by the Depart of English from the University of Texas says a lot. The course is named “Literary Contests and Contexts — The Taylor Swift Songbook.

 

In the post, they said, “A brand new course for Fall 2022 taught by Dr. Elizabeth Scala provides an introduction to literary studies and research methods that uses the songwriting of @taylorswift as the basis for teaching a wide range of skills. Let’s turn that Easter Egg hunting and reading in detail to academic purposes! First-year @lahonorsut students will be prepared for advanced work in the humanities and potential application to the English Honors Program.”

Taylor Swift has been an acclaimed songwriter by critics. Her albums and songs had won her 11 Grammy Awards so far, where she won the awards for Album of the Year and Best Country Album of the Year for “Fearless”, Best Female Country Vocal Performance, and Best Country Song for “White Horse.”

Thus, it is clear that teaching about Taylor Swift to students of Literature is not a bad idea. Notably, a few months back, NYU’s Clive Institute also announced teaching Taylor Swift as a music course to their students.
