The sporting world was up for a ride the past few days! Right after Chris Bumstead took his 4th Classic Physique title, we witnessed a new Iranian Mr. Olympia, and also Lionel Messi guided Argentina to a win in his last FIFA World Cup. The final had a kind of celebrity appearance by Elon Musk, a man that needs no introduction. But this helped a NASCAR veteran prove a point.

And after the immense backlash Musk has received after his controversial changes to Twitter, Kenny Wallace used him to prove a misconception.

Former NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace cleared a misconception

The FIFA World Cup in Doha, Qatar, saw Elon Musk greeting many fans while he enjoyed the World Cup final. But of course, the Tesla and Twitter CEO was busy tweeting in the middle of the match. While that is nothing special, according to former NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace, it proves that people who tweet don’t sit in a dark hole!

It’s an oddly important thing to highlight because there is a misconception that people on Twitter are often powerless people with access to the internet. And that can be true for a good number of slacktivists on the platform, however, there seem to be some heroes who have real lives too!

Kenny also mentioned how many times he would tweet, sitting in the broadcast booth while he was with NASCAR on FOX.

It’s pretty cool to see Elon show up for the world cup nonetheless. But he seems to be under fire once again.

Yeah, it’s not a lie. Well, he faced a lot of backlash about Twitter verification because he allowed people to purchase credibility. Because to figure out whether a verified account is credible or not, users will have to go to their profile to check whether it’s a novelty blue tick or it’s a person or organization of accountability.

Naturally, no one liked that move and it caused a lot of people to turn down verifications entirely as it was necessary to pay Twitter to even confirm their identity.

And a not-so-surprising result confirmed that most people don’t want him to be heading the platform.

The backlash sure is understandable. But is it fair for him to step down as the head entirely? Or he should maybe just revert some changes? Let us know your views in the comments.
