Eden Hazard back to Chelsea?
The winger left for Real Madrid for ?89 million in 2019, with potential add-ons. However, with just 51 starts for Madrid, his career has gone down south in Spain. Thus, Roman Abramovich is keen to bring the player back. According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, Chelsea have started preliminary talks with Real Madrid to bring the player back.?With monstrous riches at his disposal, Abramovich was full of praises for his ex-player.
“He is a top-quality player and a key player for many years at this club and this league, the hardest in the world. So consistent. I have the biggest respect for him. He is a big player, we have many people here who know him well. He was a key player for this club now he plays for Real Madrid,” said Abramovich.
Even the most cynical Chelsea fan, cautious about the Belgian’s slump in form, couldn’t help but be enticed by the prospect of Eden running it back to the glory days in the blue kit.
Chelsea reveal the transfer fee they would pay
In terms of finalizing the deal, Chelsea are not ready to offer more than ?34 million for the player. Although he is a generational player, Hazard is into his 30s and may not be worth more than the suggested figure. Moreover, his inconsistent form at the Santiago Bernabeu would be a factor in this deal. With the likes of Vinicius J?nior and Rodrygo rising through the ranks, Madrid would be willing to let him leave.
As for Chelsea, getting Hazard would mean welcoming back the player who proved to be a sensation during his time in England. In 352 appearances for the club, he scored 110 goals and dished out 92 assists. He played for seven years and excited the fans with his incredible dribbling skills.
