UFC Women’s Featherweight #6 Lauren Murphy recently opened up on why she is not very fond of Eddie Alvarez.

It happened when she was a part of Team Alvarez on the Ultimate Fighter 26. What went down was so drastic, that Lauren said if she ever met Eddie again, it would not be a pleasant conversation. In an interview with MMA Fighting, she said,

“If I ever saw Eddie again, maybe I would speak to him. Just to tell him, ‘f*ck you!’. Maybe. Eddie was just a really bad coach. Part of what I did wrong was that I had my expectations set so high. I thought he was gonna be this amazing coach. And an amazing person. Eddie’s just an athlete. You know what I mean? He’s not a coach. And he’s not a good coach, for sure.”

Well, it’s true that not all masters of a sport can learn how to teach. Teaching is an art that only a few can carry out with efficiency.

Moreover, The Ultimate Fighter was never meant for actual coaching. It was a reality TV show. The coach opposite Eddie Alvarez was Justin Gaethje, someone who would face one of his two losses at the hands of Alvarez in the coach vs. coach fight.

But the coaching is not the only reason why Lauren “Lucky” Murphy has such strong feelings about Alvarez.

There’s a lot of things that don’t get aired”- Lauren Murphy on why she dislikes Alvarez

Carrying on with the interview, Lauren said, “There [were] a lot of things that happened on Ultimate Fighter that don’t get aired. There [were] a lot of things…that I thought were really upsetting. That I thought, were really disrespectful. He was really unkind to a lot of women on the show. Not just me, but a lot of the women. I just happened to be the one who would speak up or say anything about it. And that’s the part that made it on air.”

Truly enough, Lauren changed her team from Team Alvarez to Team Gaethje. Yet reports did say that she was discontent with training, especially with Alvarez.
