Over the years, we’ve witnessed many Survival Horror games that scared the wits out of players. These include franchises like Amnesia, Outlast and Resident Evil as well as standalone titles such as Phasmophobia, and P.T. A game that is expected to soon become a part of this brilliant list is Dying Light 2.

Techland and Tymon Smektala released Dying Light in 2015 which revolved around a zombie-filled city. Even though the game’s story and characters weren’t that impressive, the well-designed open-world made it a fan favorite.

Following the massive success of the first title, Dying Light 2 is all set to release in 2021 and carry the franchise forward. The developers have recently announced a livestream event for the game, which might include information like its release date and more.

Italian news site leaks the release date of Dying Light 2

While there’s no update on Dying Light 2’s release date by Techland as of now, a poster by an Italian news site claims it to be December 7.

Okami, on Twitter, posted the game’s Italian poster.

It is worth noting that Dying Light 2 has been in the works for a long time. Moreover, the game’s official trailer released two years ago, and even a gameplay demo had arrived in 2020. Naturally, this was enough to excite fans around the world who’ve been waiting for an official release date.

Even if the leaked release date is true, it will certainly disappoint the community. Considering the amount of progress by the developers in 2020, many were hoping to finally play the game in early 2021. However, there’s a possibility that the coronavirus pandemic severely affected Techland’s ability to polish and release its highly anticipated title.

What to expect from the livestream event?

Techland announced the livestream event, that will take place on its Twitch channel, quite uniquely. It sent packages to several media outlets like TechRadar with a note and concept art for Dying Light 2.

With a UV light, one could spot the hidden details regarding the livestream event in the package. It shall take place on May 27 at 12 PM PT / 8 PM BST.

The effort put by Techland in the announcement is appreciable, to say the least. Naturally, it will be even better if this event lives up to the expectations and finally confirms the release date for the game.
