The 38-year-old Ivorian forward, who is nearing the end of his playing days, has already stated that he has no intentions of ending his distinguished playing career at the moment. “I want to play”, Drogba told a French TV channel, Canal+. “I still have my legs and I’m still like a kid with the ball. My knee got a bit annoyed [last season] but I feel good.”
Drogba has travelled all over the world in the course of his illustrious career, which spans about 19 years and the Corinthians will be the 8th club to secure the services of the Ivorian. He spent the prime years of his career in Europe, starting from Le mans in France, then moving to Guingamp followed by Olympique Marseille, which paved the way for an unforgettable stint with Chelsea. The Chelsea legend has plied his trade in China, Turkey and most recently, America towards the end of his career.
Though Drogba has publicly stated that he would like to end his career at Marseille, he is believed to be keen on taking a new challenge in South America. With this move, Drogba can follow in the steps of World Cup winning Brazilian legend, Ronaldo, who ended his career with the Corinthians.
