Viktor Hovland won the 2022 Dubai Desert Classic and registered his second DP World Tour victory. Meanwhile, the Norwegian golfer has had an excellent run with three wins in the last three months. Initially, Viktor won the World Wide Technology Championship, then the Hero World Challenge, and now the Dubai Desert Classic. 

Moreover, he has also made progress in the OWGR rankings. Hovland is currently in third place and will be hopeful of reaching the world no.1 spot soon. Notably, after winning the Dubai Desert Classic, Viktor shared a photo of himself along with the trophy and wrote a hilarious caption. So let us have a look at it.

Viktor Hovland shares the trophy picture with a hilarious caption

Viktor Hovland is one of the least active golfers on social media. Meanwhile, he shares most of his updates on Instagram, as Hovland doesn’t have a Twitter account. Hence, after winning the 2022 Dubai Desert Classic in the playoffs, Hovland shared a photo of himself with the trophy and wrote an interesting caption.

“It ain’t no animal trophy, but it’ll do,” wrote Hovland. The Norwegian meant the last couple of trophies he has won in the last three months were animal trophies. The World Wide Technology trophy was of a chameleon, while the Hero World Challenge trophy was of a Tiger. Hence, Viktor humorously wrote on his Instagram that it’s okay, even though the Dubai Desert Classic trophy is not an animal trophy.

Meanwhile, Viktor Hovland was six strokes behind, going into the final round. Hence, not many people had given him a chance, as Rory McIlroy was looking in an incredible form. But Viktor hung in there and gave it all, especially on the 17th and 18th hole. He eagled the par-4 17th by reaching the green in one and birdied the final hole to finish with a score of -12.

Furthermore, Richard Bland birdied the final two holes to share the lead with Hovland and Rory. But sadly, McIlroy debacle on the final hole and carded a bogey to finish the event at -11. Hence, Richard Bland and Viktor Hovland competed in the playoff, where the Norwegian emerged as the champion.
