During the league match against Rising Pune Supergiant on May 6 the veteran Indian pacer felt the hamstring strain which forced him to get off the field. Nehra’s absence in the eliminator against KKR on Wednesday will definitely be a costly blow for SRH especially after contemplating KKR’s devastating opening pair consisting of Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn and their high flying attacking form.

This veteran bowler has been injury prone through out the history of IPL. As per the records last year he only featured in 8 matches out of 17, while this season he played only 6 out of 14. Although this setback could be covered up to certain extents as SRH did discover a champion bowler in Mohammad Siraj, who illuminated SRH’s ray of hope to qualify for the playoffs by picking up four wickets in their must win game against Gujarat Lions.

We will be giving him obviously the opportunity to prove his fitness,” Moody said.

Yuvraj scoring 243 runs in 11 games this IPL, sustained an injury in his fingers against Mumbai Indians which led him miss the must win game against Gujarat Lions.
