The Brooklyn Nets are currently having a great season so far. Coming off their 12-game win streak in December, the Nets have bounced back from a rough start to the season. What seems to be a great run, has come to a halt with the ‘Slim Reaper’ Kevin Durant out due to an injury. Though the team still has Kyrie Irving, Seth Curry, and Nicolas Claxton in great form, fans fear a downfall without their main star KD in the team.?
In the latest game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Nets fell to a 112-102 defeat. However, Kyrie Irving’s reply in today’s post-game interview has given hope to the fans. Although, fans still seem to doubt the Nets as they go 0-2 without KD.?

"I don't think we're gonna struggle without Kevin [Durant] out. That's not my belief. I know guys in the locker room don't believe that and this isn't last year at all. The comparison just gotta stop."

Though the Brooklyn Nets are currently 0-2 without KD, Irving believes the team is capable of putting on a good show. Irving told in the interview, “All we can do is control now. We have to get ready for the road trip, one possession at a time, one minute at a time”. He added, “Guys can play different roles and this gives us a chance to really grow as individuals. Some have been in this position, some haven’t.”
He ended with a strong statement mentioning, “I don’t think we’re gonna struggle without Kevin [Durant] out. That’s not my belief. I know guys in the locker room don’t believe that and this isn’t last year at all. The comparison just gotta stop.”

Are the Brooklyn Nets title contenders?
Though Irving’s conference gives hope, fans fear the Nets might end up doing a blunder like last season. The team currently stands as the second seed in the Western Conference with a 27-15 record. In contrast to the 0-2 run, the Nets have a record of 7-3 in their last 10 games.
Irving and the Nets must manage without KD likely until the All-Star break. The Nets are set to go on a five-game road trip, in which they have a decent away record of 14-8 so far this season.?
