A new narrative has emerged in Draymond Green’s chokehold drama as a fellow player expresses his frustration. One thing that’s clear is that everyone has their own take on why the different stakeholders acted the way they did. The Cleaveland Cavaliers’ superstar, Donovan Mitchell Jr. takes a dig at Ruby Gobert surrounding the Draymond Green chokehold situation.

Donovan Mitchell is not on Ruby Gobert’s side

In a recent episode of the Point Forward podcast, Andre Iguodala was joined by the Cleaveland Cavaliers’ point guard, Donovan Mitchell. Donovan while reacting to the chokehold situation seemed to be disappointed with how Rudy Gobert handled the situation. That for him was the reason that the situation was taken way out of proportion. “I feel like Rudy made it look a hundred times worse”, Donovan said.

The Cleveland player, who has missed the last two games of his team, further expressed his frustration with Rudy speaking on the situation after the match. Donovan doesn’t seem to be having it with Rudy playing the victim card in the situation. “How about you fight back and It’ll be okay”, he said. Donovan further defended Draymond as he believed the headlock to be an act of brotherhood between him and Klay.

With Donovan’s speaking on his disappointment with what the situation turned into, Andre Iguodala had his own perspective to add to it.

The former Warriors star player acknowledged that the situation wasn’t as bad and no one was really going to get hurt. However, he had a perspective that went beyond what the eyes saw on the court. This is the part where the NBA plays a role. Iguodala believed that situations like these could be a part of the growth of the world of the NBA, in the way the game is presented to the fans.

Iguodala believes that as a part of the game’s growth in terms of the following, there is a downside. Something small things like this can get blown out of proportion as it’s all about the optics. The sport has always been this way according to the 4 time champ. Despite only being worth 2 points a dunk gets cheered like a game-winning play.
