During an interview at the Rolex Paris Masters, last year, Dominic Thiem revealed: “She (Kristina Mladenovic) asked me for a warm-up. So it’s her, but I’m not sure she was looking for a date or something. There was a lot in between but it’s too long to answer, but that’s how it started.”

The love story between Thiem and Mladenovic had previously been revealed to have started during Dominic Thiem’s run to the finals at the 2018 French Open when Mladenovic was in the Austrian’s box for each of his games.

Earlier, Kristina Mladenovic explained in an interview that she feels to be the luckiest for the relationship with Thiem as the 26-year-old understands her job, being in the same field.

She said: “I am very lucky and fortunate with my relationship. Obviously, in many ways, it helps to have a person that understands your job and sacrifices and accepts your job as a woman.”

She added: “It’s not easy every day but there are also difficulties because you have to be apart from your partner but I think the understanding and the love is more powerful and the respect is amazing so I am the luckiest.”

Mladenovic had also revealed what she can learn from boyfriend Dominic Thiem. She said: “I do not even know. For me, he is not just a great player, a champion.”
