Simona Halep On Her Match
Simona Halep won her semi-final match against Irina Begu. She was trailing 5-6 in the first set but she managed to seal it in the tiebreaker. She talked about this and said, “I didn’t play my best tennis but also she was tired, so in my opinion, it was a good match. I’m really happy that I could win it. It’s always tough to play against her. She’s a great player.”
Simona Halep says she’s getting closer to her level but still not happy that it’s too ‘up and down’ during matches. Said Begu’s MTO in the first set was good for her, gave her a moment to calm down and refocus.

The Romanian is now going to be facing Elise Mertens who she has faced four times before. She won three of those meetings. She went on to say, “Finals are very difficult. So, it doesn’t matter what I did before, it matters only the match from tomorrow. I’m going to give my best because I really want to win it but it’s never easy. I just try to recover until tomorrow and tomorrow, enjoy the fact that I get to play another final.”
