Romanian tennis star Simona Halep has been instrumental on the women’s circuit for a considerable amount of time. During the 2018 and 2019 seasons, she produced some of the best tennis on the Tour. During that period, she won the French Open and followed it up with the Wimbledon Championships.
Recently, Simona Halep was in the limelight for tying the knot to her boyfriend Toni Iuruc on September 15 in Constanta, Romania. She was doing a press conference at the Indian Wells and she revealed some details concerning her wedding and its preparations.

The 30-year-old Major champion stated, “Well my husband took care of the wedding. I didn’t have to move one finger for it. I just said I wanted white flowers, so he knew what I like. He did everything and thanks to him I didn’t have to stress about the party. I just enjoyed it many people came. My family, my friends, and after two days I was back in the gym so I was back very fast to do the training after the wedding.”

Simona Halep has had a mixed season this year
Coming on to tennis, in the 2021 season, Simona has not played much tennis. She was sidelined due to injuries that kept her out of the French Open and Wimbledon Championship events, where she had gone the distance and emerged as a champion. She also recently split up with longtime coach Darren Cahill, ending their six-year partnership.

At the moment, the Romanian star is competing at the Indian Wells event. She won her opening round match against Marta Kostyuk in straight sets. She will be facing Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the next round. In 2015, Halep won this event when she beat Jelena Jankovic in the final.

After dealing with injuries for a majority of this season, it is great to see the former World No. 1 competing on the biggest stages. It will be interesting to see how far she goes in this tournament.
