Reports have surfaced claiming that Gerard Deulofeu shall be moving to Everton on a permanent basis after being deemed surplus to requirements by Barcelona manager Luis Enrique.
In a move that is expected to cost Everton £3 million, Roberto Martinez shall be looking forward to reunite with the former loanee as he looks to rebuild his squad after a disappointing campaign. Deulofeu spent a season with the Toffees during his Spanish compatriot’s first season at the Everton helm and entertained Everton fans with his dribbling and goals.
Having spent the previous season on loan at Sevilla, the winger is understood to be disillusioned with life at Camp Nou. Deulofeu publicly enjoys a healthy relationship with Martinez and this could convince the 21-year old to secure a permanent move to the Blues of Merseyside.
After the signing of Tom Cleverly on a free transfer, Gerard Deulofeu could prove to be another shrewd signing by the club. The La Masia Graduate can be deployed on either flank and would add plenty of width. With Everton contending to secure Europa League qualification this coming season, the addition of Deulofeu could be the extra dimension the Toffees desperately need.
