Destiny 2 released with a lot of fanfare almost four years ago in September 2017. The developers at Bungie had a slow start with fans and critics slamming the game’s content. However, since then, the developers have improved it massively with new content including locations, activities, weapons and many more.

The title had a fixed system until its third year when Bungie massively overhauled the game’s seasonal content. Since that change, fans have had to pay $10 for every season to gain items like the seasonal artifacts, battle pass and the new activities. However, the community has some issues with it if they miss out on playing any of the past seasons.

Destiny 2 players hate the seasonal content purchase system

In a recent Reddit post on r/DestinyTheGame, fans of the Bungie title talked about the game’s seasonal content. The post included a heartfelt plea from a player’s father, who had recently joined the massive community to play with him. He stated that as a new player his son wanted to get the Hawkmoon. To gain access to this Exotic Hand Cannon, players would need to own Season of the Hunt. When it released, this season costed $10, and the Redditor claimed that his kid wouldn’t paying that.

But, in order to gain access any of the past seasons, players would need to buy the Deluxe Edition of Beyond Light. This upgrade costs $69,99, which is seven times more than the price of a single season. As Bungie doesn’t provide any of the past seasons for the same price, players have had to begrudgingly buy this if they want to experience the content of any old season.

Players want a change in this system

For $10, a single season provides Destiny 2 players with a couple of exotic weapons, activities and some extra bounties. The $10 price makes sense for players to purchase it after missing the season when it first released. However, the community believes that it’s not worth shelling almost $70 just to play the content of a single season.

Players of the game have long stated that they want an option to buy seasons a la carte. However, for some reason, Bungie has never made this available for the thousands of players who have had to sacrifice playing specific modes. This includes Presage, and many other amazing content that the developers have created for the fans. It remains to be seen if this system might see a change before the release of the Witch Queen expansion next year. However, until then, players will have to either miss out on those activities or pay a hefty amount.
