Destiny 2 has its fair share of overpowered mechanics and weapons. From Anarchy destroying mobs in Season of the Splicer to mods like Particle Deconstruction that make weapons unstoppable, the game has it all. Hunters, Titans and Warlocks have some powerful stuff that players on the Crucible find very annoying.
The most recent item that has grabbed the attention of the community is none other than Shatterdive. This Stasis subclass ability for Hunters has recently become strong in PvP modes. Many fans have suggested that the developers should nerf the Hunter ability soon. But, many community members also believe that it’s not really a big deal.

Destiny 2 has a new powerful Hunter Stasis ability in Shatterdive
The Shatterdive is one of the three aspects of the Hunter Stasis subclass in Revenant. This ability allows players locate and dive to locations to shatter frozen targets and Stasis crystals in a 6 meter radius. Guardians can do this by activating it from mid-air.
Players can do a lot with this aspect using something like Glacier Grenade. By throwing it on an opposing player, Guardians can freeze them for a while. Then using Shatterdive, they can instantly kill them off without any problem. In a recent Reddit post on r/destiny2, the community discussed how powerful this meta is in PvP right now. While. it takes skill to throw the Grenade and hit enemies, many believe that this makes the life of Hunter players quite easy in the crucible.

Is it really overpowered though?
However, many Guardians have also noted the opposite of that in the PvP modes of Destiny 2. Fans wrote comments about how they can easily dodge the Grenade by jumping or just moving away. They have stated the Grenades will hit them sometimes. However, out of position players can get caught by a Shotgun as well, which isn’t really considered to be an issue. It can be annoying for Guardians when the Grenade hits. But, many of them have stated that this ability doesn’t cause a lot of problems to receive a nerf.

It remains to be seen if Bungie will contemplate a potential nerf for this Stasis Aspect anytime soon. The community is divided over this issue, and only time will tell if the developers believe that it’s an issue worth receiving a fix.
