With the NBA offseason in full effect, the eyes of the sporting world have turned toward the other major events taking place. One is the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup, through which the USWNT aims to complete a historic three-peat. However, the recent match did not go as planned, with Trinity Rodman becoming the scapegoat for the dropped points. Despite what happened, and what some fans are saying at the moment, many have not lost hope. Amongst them is NBA Legend Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa.
After winning comfortably on Friday, the USWNT faced the Netherlands in their second match of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Taking place a few hours ago, the match didn’t generate as much success as the first one.

Once the first half was over, the Netherlands were in the lead after Jill Roord scored a goal in the 17th minute. This was despite the fact that the US had attempted nine shots on goal in the same half. This also marked the first instance since 2011 when the USWNT trailed in a WC match.
The 21-year-old Trinity is taking in the glory of being in her first-ever World Cup. With the score tied at 1-1, she attempted to win it late with a left-footed shot toward the goal which, unfortunately, missed its mark. Saved by Netherlands goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar, it cost the US a potential victory.
