The Tsitsipas camp will be further tensed as he has now withdrawn from his doubles match at Paris Masters. His doubles partner, Aisam ul Hag Qureshi, announced the sad news on Twitter and wished Tsitsipas well for the remaining season.

“Unfortunately, @StefTsitsipas had to pull out from our doubles match at #RolexParisMasters due to an injury. Wishing him a very speedy recovery and all the best for rest of the season,” Qureshi tweeted.

Tsitsipas entered the Paris Masters as the second seed behind Rafael Nadal. But the Greek went out in a shock defeat to French player Ugo Humbert. It was a long and gruesome match which had three tiebreakers. Tsitsipas later revealed that his French Open 2020 injury resurfaced midway through the match against Humbert.

“During the second set my Roland Garros injury came back, and it wasn’t as bad as at the French Open. But it [the injury] kind of had me on the edge of things, and I wasn’t sure if that’s good for me to be out there,” Tsitsipas said.

This is a moment of bad luck for Tsitsipas. Although he reached the semifinals of the French Open 2020, it came at the expense of an injury. Tsitsipas played the semifinal against Novak Djokovic. He stretched the World No. 1 till the fifth set, which took a toll on his body. But now the injury is still plaguing him even after almost a month of playing the French Open semifinal.

Now there is added pressure on Tsitsipas as he is the defending champion for the season-finale event, the ATP Finals. Tsitsipas has ten days to revitalize himself and sort out his injury troubles. The ATP Finals begin on November 15.
