Iker Casillas seems to have made up his mind about his future at his boyhood club Real Madrid. According to some sources, Iker Casillas does not see himself holding the Number 1 jersey any longer with David de Gea lined up, and has finally decided to vacate the Number 1 spot at Real Madrid.

Iker Casillas will be leaving this summer with Arsenal interested in bringing the Spanish hero to the Emirates. Meanwhile David de Gea apparently said “goodbye” to his teammates and staff at Manchester United, signalling that he would be joining Real Madrid.

With Casillas deciding to move on and De Gea saying “goodbyes”, Real Madrid could announce the signing by next week. The 24 year old himself showed uncertainty when asked about his future : “We will see what happens,” he said. Real Madrid is confident of landing David de Gea with the fee to be around £25m.

Louis van Gaal seems to have shortlisted a few replacements, should De Gea decide to leave Old Trafford. Chelsea’s Petr Cech is one possibility. The 33 year old, Cech does not want to be on the bench having lost his place at Stamford Bridge to Thibaut Courtois. Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris also fits the bill who has expressed his desire to play in the Champions League and with Spurs not able to provide that, the Frenchman may move to Old Trafford in search of European football.
