The James Harden trade drama is still at its peak. It has been two months since his “lair” comments towards Daryl Morey, and since then, a lot has happened. Particularly, his continued absence from the Sixers’ practice sessions and all of their preseason games. For many in the league, Harden’s departure is now an inevitability. However, the question is how much damage control Philly has to do for Harden’s antics.

Recently, Morey gave positive indications at an interview stating their future will be “very good”. Meanwhile, an NBA front office source says otherwise. According to those recent reports, the  76ers  and Morey’s legacy seems to be in jeopardy.

The Sixers’ head of basketball operations is facing significant pressure, with James Harden primarily at fault here despite any supposed commitments. Harden signed a contract worth $35.6 million for his presence and performance, but Daryl Morey is also under scrutiny.

Amid these uncertainties, a report by Heavy Sports Claims makes a doomsday prediction for Morey and the Philadelphia 76ers. “Oh, man, they are f***ed,” said the NBA front office source. He further added, “I’m telling you what, they are screwed. Daryl Morey’s not going to survive this.” While these comments foretell a dark future for Morey and Sixers, there is much more to be discussed.

Interestingly, just days ago, The Sixers’ President of Basketball Operations shed light on the James Harden saga that looms over his legacy. In the honest admission, his reply to Hardens’ antics seems quite resolute in contradiction with the latest statement.
