We are within sight of the commencement of the Australian Open 2021, as many players have reached the destination. To many fans’ surprise, the 20-year-old star from Ukraine, Dayana Yastremska, also chartered a private flight to Melbourne Park.
Only recently, Dayana received a provisional suspension from the WTA Tour against doping charges. However, she can still apply to lift her provisional suspension, and if she is successful in doing so, she can also play with immediate effect.
Moreover, the Ukrainian star has made the main draw of the first major tournament of the year. Therefore, it is likely that she will be seen competing for the Happy Slam title.

Dreams for Australian title not over for Dayana Yastremska
According to the ITF, Dayana had tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug in November 2020. Since the same was banned by WADA, she got provisionally suspended from the women’s tour.
A full hearing will decide the fate of World No. 29, but Yastremska will also have a right to challenge the decision.
In fact, there are many scenarios in which an athlete can get the provisional ban lifted, and demonstrating to the hearing panel that the violation is likely to have involved a Contaminated Product is one.
Considering her rebuttal on Twitter after hearing the news, this scenario might actually help her case. Dayana had said, “I have received scientific advice that the result is consistent with some form of a contamination event.”
In conclusion, the second-highest ranked player under 21, Dayana, could play at the Australian Open if she proves her point.
