Newcastle FC have agreed a deal to let Davide Santon off the hook after a loan move to Inter Milan was finalized today.

According to multiple sources, the loan deal will extend till the end of this season. The player himself took to Facebook to express his delight on his return to Italy. Inter will also have an option to make the deal a permanent one.

The Italian recently returned from a long-term injury and thanked the Newcastle fans for their love and support. But the Facebook post was swiftly deleted on Monday morning after Newcastle rejected claims that a deal had been struck.

However, this turned out to be false and it was confirmed that the player had rejoined his former club, one at which he spent three years playing from 2008 to 2011.
