Darren Till was waiting to make an appearance at UFc 248. A lot of hurdles came his way on his path to face Jared Cannonier in Las Vegas. The hurdles started with passport and contract issues that Till solved in time, yet, the fixture met a dead end when Cannonier pulled out of the fight citing pectoral injury.

Darren Till made his UFC debut in 2015 as a part of the Welterweight division after an amateur record of 3-0-0. He first faced Wendell de Oliveira Marques on 30 May 2015 and went on to win the fight via TKO/KO.

His UFC debut marked the first win of his streak of wins that was yet to come. He faced his first loss in a matchup with Tyron Woodley for the Welterweight Championship. Woodley dropped till in the second round, immediately employing his revered D’Arce choke to finish the match.

Woodley’s second loss at the UFC came at the hands of “Gamebred” Jorge Masvidal at UFC Fight Night 147. Jorge won the match by knocking out Till in the second round and both fighters were awarded Fight of the Night. This was Darren Till’s last appearance in the Welterweight division of UFC.

On 26 August 2019, it was announced that Till will be switching to the Middleweight division of the UFC. His first fight in the division was against Kevin Gastelum and he won by split-decision. Gastelum was a former title challenger, and the fact Till’s first win came against him gained him huge credibility.
