Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat was over the moon when he took a well-deserved third in Hockenheim. However, it was very nearly second place as the drivers reached the closing stages of the race. This was because Sebastian Vettel slithered off at the Mercedes arena on the final lap. In addition to that, with the demons of the 2018 German Grand Prix plaguing him, he slowed down at the hairpin.
This allowed Daniil Kvyat to close right up, but catching up is one thing, passing is a different thing altogether. So, Vettel was able to hold on to 2nd from the Russian, while Max Verstappen took the win.
