Justin Gaethje shares details of his relationship with Dana White and how he plans on managing in the times to come.
Justin Gaethje, the current interim UFC lightweight champion recently sat down with ESPN MMA to discuss all the matters that concern the sport and UFC in particular right now. He even discussed his relationship with the president of the company Dana White.
While I conversation with the interviewers, the topic of Dana White’s ongoing feud with some of his fighters came up. The current battle between boss and employee has gotten quite severe and they wanted to if among all this turmoil has Gaethje actually managed to strengthen his ties with White. Is he White’s ‘Golden Boy’?

Justin Gaethje Said, “You know I don’t have a personal relationship with Dana White at all. I’ve never called him and I’ve texted him only once. When I said in an interview, ’If I got passed up I’ll punch him in the face’. And my manager called and said maybe I should text him. So I did. ‘I was like hey man I dint really wanna punch you in the face’ So that was the only time I ever really talked to him.”

But Gaethje added another part. He said, “After the fight, he called me like a week after and told me he just got off the phone with Trump. And said Trump was raving about me, about how awesome the fight was and how awesome the whole event was. So that was the first time he ever called me. But I haven’t talked to him since.”

Justin Gaethje also explained why this relationship with White is how it is. He said, “I’d like to be friends with him but I’m going to have to go to war with that man so I don’t want to be too close.”

There you have it, Justin Gaethje isn’t Dana White’s best pal but also there isn’t an ongoing feud between them. And Gaethje doesn’t want to change it either.
