Kobe Bryant was more than just a basketball legend. Much more. He was a symbol of success achieved due to hard work, a motivator, and most of all, a warm human being. He did much more than he took credit for, which is what White had to say too.

“You look at Kobe the basketball player, right? Then the guy won an Oscar, and all the other things that this guy has accomplished in his life – also he was one of the big investors in Body Armor, the company that’s a sponsor of the UFC,” White said.

“He was also an investor in the UFC, and the UFC killed it last year. I mean 2019, when I say 2019 was our best year – other years, 2019’s through the roof. It was massive. So the owners got distribution, and Kobe got distribution from the UFC, the Wednesday before the incident, and he was so pumped up and so excited.”

Many fighters in the MMA community were deeply impacted by Kobe Bryant’s demise. While Dominick Reyes credits Bryant for where he is today, Isreal Adesanya sported a Lakers jacket while in LA as a tribute to him. Not only fighters, but his Mamba Mentality played an inspiring role for a plethora of sportspersons who credit their success to the same. It was because of the example Bryant set that inspired people to be better and not quit.

“He was a great dude. He was a part of this company,” White said. “Kobe Bryant was a good guy in every way that you can possibly be a good guy.”
