While the MMA realm was left debating who the P4P king is after UFC 309, with Makhachev staying at number #1 while Jon Jones only managed to reach the second spot, it seems like UFC 310 too has caused major changes to the list. While Dana White plans to bring AI to the UFC to determine accurate rankings on the P4P list, two fighters have stunned all by jumping up positions after UFC 310.
Alexandre Pantoja moves up two spots in the latest official pound-for-pound rankings update following his #UFC310 victory over Kai Asakura. Now in the #9 spot with welterweight champion Leon Edwards, Alexandre Pantoja continues to cement his legacy in the UFC Flyweight division. In the main event of UFC 310, the Brazilian marked his third title defense, finishing Kai Asakura in just two rounds with a rear naked choke.
But while he showcased his dominance in the Octagon, the same cannot be said for Shavkat Rakhmonov, who moved to the #2 spot in the welterweight rankings. For the first time in his career, Shavkat Rakhmonov failed to finish a fight. In the five-round co-main event of UFC 310, the Kazakh welterweight secured his title opportunity—and his undefeated MMA record—by defeating Ian Garry after taking the fight to a distance. Despite trying his level best, Rakhmonov secured a victory by a three-pronged 48–47.

Ian Garry, who was Shavkat Rakhmonov‘s teammate at Kill Cliff FC, suffered the first loss of his career. ‘The Future’ came into this pay-per-view with an 8-0 record. However, despite the loss, he remains at the #7 spot on the P4P rankings. So now it would be interesting to see how Dana White reacts to it.

After all, the head honcho is in a war against the way the media gets to choose the P4P rankings, especially after Jon Jones occupies a rank below Islam Makhachev. However, the Dagestani fighter let the UFC boss know that he was the best in the promotion by saying it to his face.
When Islam Makhachev confronted Dana White
UFC 311 is definitely going to be an exciting affair, as Islam Makhachev goes one-on-one against Arman Tsarukyan. Seeing Makhachev and Dana White at the UFC 311 press conference together, a journalist took the opportunity to question him about his opinions on the P4P rankings. The reporter asked Dana White if he would let Makhachev be on the top of the rankings even if Jon Jones claims the top spot, to which White replied, “We’ll see.”

However, Makhachev decided to finally confront Dana White as he asked the head honcho to be ‘true.’ So, being true, he began supporting Jon Jones by saying, “Listen, Islam knows I love him, man. But you know how I feel about that. Jon Jones is undefeated for however many years. Boo all you want. I don’t give a s–t.” But it seemed like the UFC Lightweight champion had enough of the UFC boss as he firmly asked Dana White, “Who is the #1? Tell Dana. Who is the #1?”
Well, it truly looks like Makhachev has had enough of his own boss favoring ‘Bones’ despite him earning his top spot. After all, the UFC head honcho has time and again stood up in support of Jon Jones to the point of being mocked by fans for his ‘special’ treatment and love for the fighter. But what do you think? Do you agree with White’s opinion? Who do you think is the P4P #1? Let us know in the comments.
