It’s a despairing time for Dallas Cowboys fans. The Mike McCarthy-trained side fumbled against Tom Brady’s defiant unit. The Bucs defeated them with the score of 19-3, in the season opener. But that was not the main issue. They lost their top QB Dak Prescott in the fourth quarter as he hit the hand of outside linebacker Shaq Barrett while throwing a pass. The 29-year-old is expected to have surgery on his right thump. As a result, he is likely to miss action for six to eight weeks.

Talking after the match, the Dallas top gun said he initially had thought he jammed a finger. As a result, he never thought it was serious. However, when he went to the locker room and took X-rays, they showed that he has fractured.

Dak Prescott is a scapegoat for injuries

From the 2020-21 season, Prescott has missed 12 games. However, when we turn the clock back, we can see that the rising talent did not miss any games from 2016 to 2019. This indicates his recent struggles with injury. Meanwhile, talking about the star, coach McCarthy said it is a significant injury.

Since the number one QB is unavailable, the Cowboys will feature Cooper Rush as their starting quarterback against the Bengals. Meanwhile, Will Grier is picked as their No.3 quarterback. “It’s very disappointing, but injuries happen, can’t necessarily control it, just unfortunate,” says Prescott.

A forgettable game for the Cowboys

A lot was expected of the Cowboys while playing against the Bucs. But they showed no intent and went a bit too defensive against an aggressive opponent. Fans expressed their anguish on Twitter while the coach added that they will bounce back soon. The last time the Cowboys scored less than six points was in 1989. It was a shocking 28-0 loss against the New Orleans Saints.
