Cyberpunk 2077 is well and truly on its way after years of waiting. Having spent years developing the cyberpunk-themed game, CD Projekt Red had announced an April release. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 disrupted most plans we had, and Cyberpunk 2077’s release was one of them. Rescheduled for a September release, we can safely say there won’t be any more delays. CD Projekt’s president recently confirmed they were on track for the new schedule.

Let’s look at the different gangs that dominate Night City’s underground scene.
First off, let’s start off with one of the more humane gangs, shall we?
Formed in 2076 after the death of Elizabeth “Lizzie” Borden, a strip club owner & ex-prostitute who treated her workers fairly and defended them from violent clients, The Mox refer to themselves as “those who protect working girls and guys” from violence and abuse. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/X1Ie8JjPYo

And now, a vicious gang that employs the use of supplements to enhance their physical capabilities.

Animals – an aggressive street-fighting gang from west Pacifica that eschews the use of traditional cyberware. Instead, they use ultra testosterone and animal supplements (like growth hormones). Valentinos is a gang that follows a strong set of principles.
One of Night City’s largest gangs, the Valentinos are bound by a strong moral code and century-old traditions. Controlling swathes of predominantly Latino areas of Heywood, they treat values such as honor, justice, and brotherhood with deadly seriousness. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/Z2dgxy3R0P

Next up, a little peek into Night City’s Japantown.
Tyger Claws is a gang of Japanese origin and stylistic influence, located in Japantown. They're ruthless and violent in practice, and intimidating in appearance. Katanas, street bikes and luminous tattoos are their trademarks. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/aKKyyTmRSp

Moreover, Cyberpunk 2077 will also feature other gangs in the city. However, street gangs are not the only players in the game. In addition to the gangs, megacorporations will also play a massive role in the game.
Unsurprisingly, weapons manufacturers are huge in the year 2077.
Everyone in Night City knows that Militech equals one of the largest manufacturers of weapons and military vehicles in the world. They’ve worked closely with American military and police agencies for years, providing high-grade weaponry and training. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/hvVHCArwMU

Given the highly cybernetic nature of life in 2077, it is not surprising that security firms have a lot of influence.
Kang-Tao is a young Chinese company specializing in smart-gun technology and security services. It's making its way to the top of the weapon industry at a tremendous pace thanks to bold choices, courageous strategy, and government backing. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/BRRrfKNoX9

Arasaka Corp. is a family firm from Japan. They're known for providing corporate security, banking, and legal services. One of the most influential megacorporations in 2077, their weapons and vehicles are among the most sought after by police and security forces. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/ni2jjbeUZf

Founded by veterans of the 4th Corporate War tired of the helplessness of the NCPD, 6th Street was meant to serve and protect the community of Vista del Rey. Today their interpretation of the law and “bringing justice to the city” is questionable and self-serving. #Cyberpunk2077 pic.twitter.com/vnfz7AsHpu

Well, there you go. Some power players you can expect to run into in the unforgiving Night City. Also, let’s not forget Johnny Silverhand. But who knows how to categorize him?
