After a long period of negotiations, the Danish eSport organization North has finally reached an agreement with Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) for Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson. North had its eyes set on the Swedish player for a while now, and have finally agreed to meet the price quoted by NiP for the 27-year-old pro. CS: GO news website HLTV.org has confirmed that the deal will be announced officially in the next couple of days.

A look at the journey from Fnatic, to NiP, and finally, North
In recent times, NiP had benched Lekr0 and played Hampus “hampus” Poser in his place. Lekr0 was on NiP’s transfer list for quite a while even though he had played in the team’s starting lineup for almost two years following his transfer from Fnatic.

North wasn’t the only team that had its crosshair set on the Swedish player. Lekr0 had almost signed a deal with MAD Lions, the Danish eSports organization. Currently under the leadership of Asger “AcilioN” Larsen, MAD’s roster would have employed him as the team’s main gunner/rifler, which is his original position. Unfortunately, the deal broke down as Lekr0 refused the offer from the organization.
Lekr0’s upcoming stint with north will be his first CS: GO gig outside of Sweden. He will replace Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjaerbye in the team. North had to let go of Kjaerbye recently following his inability to play due to medical issues.
Currently, this is what North’s roster looks like: Nicklas “gade” Gade, Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen, René “cajunb” Borg, Philip “aizy” Aistrup, and Jonas “Lekr0” Olofson. Lekr0 will play as the roster’s main rifler under the leadership of Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen.

North’s recent performance in CS: GO prior to signing Lekr0
With Kjaerbye on the bench, North had to use a temporary replacement. The team used Kristoffer “Kristou” Aamand as a stand-in throughout the previous tournament season. The team went on to achieve the 7th place in the cs_summit 6. Currently 12th in Europe’s Regional Major Ranking with 1520 points, North is just one place away from qualifying for the ESL One: Rio Major.
