Ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club, Manchester United’s performances have taken a dive. A lack of tactical cohesion from one manager to the next has seen the club scrambling for success against much more efficient rivals, Manchester City and Liverpool. The trump card played by United this summer was the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, hoping to provide that elusive finishing touch.
However, Ronaldo’s return has not gone as he would have liked, most recently emphasized by United’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool. To add to the misery, there are reports emerging that he’s irritated with the actions of young forward Mason Greenwood.

Cristiano Ronaldo irritated with 20-year-old Manchester United star
Liverpool handed United a thumping this weekend as they defeated them 0-5 at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job is in question and fans are starting to lose their patience. Amidst all the carnage, Ronaldo seems unhappy that Greenwood is not passing the ball in the right areas as he always looks to shoot.
Regular followers of United will know that Mason has always had a shoot-first inclination. Perhaps the blame rests on Ole for his continual use of the forward on the right-wing, instead of his favored striker position. There’s also the trouble of a stylistic fit between a Ronaldo and Greenwood partnership since both forwards are more likely to shoot and score than create for their teammates.
The arrival of Ronaldo was supposed to spark a new era for United, but things have not gone down well at Old Trafford. The lack of team chemistry is clear, as the players are looking to showcase their individual talents rather than playing like a team to win. Ronaldo plays center forward for the club and has scored goals to help them win games from losing positions.

Likewise, other players in the club have openly criticized Solskjaer’s management skills and his desire to stay with underperforming players. Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, and Donny van de Beek all seem unhappy with their situation at the club. Solskjaer prefers to play Fred and Scott McTominay in the middle, but the duo have more than their fair share of critics.
United’s squad was crying out for a good deep-lying central midfielder, but Ole and the board decided to add Ronaldo to an already stacked forward line instead. It would appear as if the mismanagement in the transfer window is coming back to haunt United.
With a disrupted camp and a lot of unhappy players, United are in trouble. Once labeled title contenders during the start of the season, their campaign looks to have reached a dead-end already. As for Solskjaer, he hopes to win his upcoming games to keep his job at the club.
