Gruesome incident in India against one elephant leaves the entire nation mourning

It has been reported that an elephant, a pregnant elephant, was a fed crackers-filled pineapple by villagers. The majestic animal was passing through and put her faith in some of the cruelest people to exist. Tragically, the elephant did not survive and passed away while standing in the river. The image of her standing in the river, helpless, scared, and not knowing why this is happening is one of the most heartbreaking images to exist on the internet.  This is not the first time that animal cruelty in India is coming forward. However, this is one of the most heinous acts.

An FIR is in motion against the culprits. Officials suspect that the elephant had been fed the pineapple towards the end of April or beginning of May. The starvation and the shrinking indicate it happened around 20 days ago.

. “We don’t know when the incident happened. But because of the starvation and shrinking of the elephant, we suspect that it would have happened around 20 days ago”, says forest official Aashique Ali.

This news has shaken India and everyone is taking to social media to raise a petition to bring justice to the elephant. PETA India is working actively with the police department. Celebrities are taking to Twitter to express their emotions. Indian skipper Virat Kohli took to Twitter to ask everyone to treat animals kindly and not indulge in such cowardly and malicious acts.

Not only have Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rishabh Pant, and others been affected, it seems as though the entire nation is shook. As of now the names or the whereabouts of the culprits aren’t known. It is hopeful that the police department of Kerala will soon find out who they are and charge them accordingly.
