Gautam Gambhir slammed the Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi on twitter today. The two cricketers have always been at loggerheads.
Gambhir’s reaction came after Afridi questioned the Indian cricketer’s frivolous attitude in his memoir, Gamechanger. Shahid Afridi accused Gambhir of having a big ego despite not playing any valuable innings for India. He also said that he enjoyed sledging Gambhir and Shane Warne on the field because of how they reacted to his sledging.
Referring to Gautam Gambhir, Afridi said, “(Gautam Gambhir) and his attitude problem. He, who has no personality. He, who is barely a character in the great scheme of cricket. Gambhir, who has no great records, just a lot of attitude. He, who behaves like he’s a cross between Don Bradman and James Bond.”

Gambhir posted, “Someone who doesn’t remember his age how will he remember my records! ok. Shahid Afridi let me remind you one: 2007 T20 WC final, Ind vs Pak Gambhir 75 off 54 balls vs Afridi 0 off 1 ball. Most important: We won the Cup. And yes, I’ve attitude towards liars, traitors & opportunists,”
This is not the first time when the two cricketers have been at a war of words. In his tweet, Gambhir talked about a match between India and Pakistan in the 2007 T20 World Cup. India defeated Pakistan in that match owing to the sensational knock of 75 runs from just 54 balls by Gambhir. Also, Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi had a verbal fight in that match after both collided while Gambhir was taking a run off Afridi.
