Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Afridi is the third Pakistani cricketer after Taufeeq Umar and Zafar Sarfaraz to test positive for COVID-19. The coronavirus cases have been increasing rapidly in Pakistan. More than 1.32 lakh people have tested positive for this virus while nearly 2,551 have lost their lives.
Afridi took it to twitter to inform about his health to his fans and followers. He confirmed about him being tested for the deadly virus. The cricketer also urged his fans to pray for his speedy recovery.
The swashbuckling all-rounder tweeted, “I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday. My body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately, I’m COVID positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah”

Shahid Afridi helps Pakistan citizens at the time of the pandemic
Shahid Afridi has helped a lot of people in Pakistan through his organization, Shahid Afridi Foundation. He helped thousands of people with ration and daily essentials.

Afridi had also extended his support to Bangladesh’s cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim who had decided to auction his cricket kit to raise funds to fight the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. On the behalf of his foundation, Shahid Afridi had purchased the bat from the auction for $ 20,000.
ICC had shared this information on their twitter handle. ICC had tweeted, “Mushfiqur Rahim has found a buyer! Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has joined the good cause, picking up the bat on behalf of his charity foundation,”
The 40-year-old had also confirmed this news through his social media handle. He had said that he believes that human suffering and empathy is beyond borders. Afridi wrote, “Cricket is to bind.
